Commanders vs. 49ers prediction market preview
Washington (1-3-1) aims to rebound after clock mismanagement cost it a victory over the New York Giants last week. QB Jayden Daniels failed to stop the clock and give Drew Stevens a chance to make a 42-yard field goal to win the game. The result was a 27-27 tie, the first of the year in the NFL.
The unbeaten 49ers are rolling with QB Brock Purdy’s fast start to the season. San Francisco (5-0) is now the favorite to win Super Bowl 61, trading at 17% at Kalshi. The 49ers beat defending Super Bowl champion Seattle, 32-29, last week.
Purdy has a career record of 2-0 against the Commanders. He threw for a combined 464 yards and four touchdowns in those games. Daniels is making his first career start against the 49ers.
Washington has withered defensively, allowing a league-worst 95 points in the second half and 55 in the fourth quarter. That trend bears watching on MNF.
The Commanders are decent against the run, allowing just 95.4 yards per game on the ground. They will be tested by Christian McCaffrey and a San Francisco offense that ranks eighth in rushing yards per game (128.6 ypg).
WR1 Mike Evans poses a similar challenge in the passing game. Evans had seven catches for 113 yards and a TD against Seattle last week. Fellow wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who led the Commanders in receiving yards last year, will not face his former team on MNF due to a hamstring injury. That could open the door for TE George Kittle to have a big night.
Defensively, look for the 49ers to keep Daniels in the pocket. He rushed for more than 100 yards and two TDs against the Giants last week. RB1 Jacory Croskey-Merritt is out with a groin injury, leaving Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler to handle reps.
Washington needs more production from top wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who’s only got 203 yards and one touchdown through five games.

In addition to game markets, Kalshi also offers several player props to trade on for MNF. These markets include:

Purdy leads the NFL in touchdown passes with 13. As such, his price to throw 2+ touchdown passes is68% at Kalshi. He could thrive through the air against a Washington pass defense that ranks 29th in the NFL, allowing 255 yards per game and 14 TDs on the season.
As mentioned, McLaurin needs to get back on track for Washington. He has found the end zone just once this season. If the Commanders expect to stay within shouting distance of the 49ers, “Scary Terry” will need to be a factor.
